Staff Expectations
A staff member at Real Life is a partner, is unified and aligned, is fully engaged in the vision, mission, and values, is a disciplemaker, possesses the leadership to move things forward, and has specific gifts that pertain to his or her area of ministry.
-
A staff member is a partner at Real Life and is held accountable to the “Partner Agreement” (serving/attending church, giving, involved in a life group, etc). If you are not a Partner, you can become one by attending a 101 class.
-
We expect our staff to be unified in the essentials and aligned in the nonessentials. This is spelled out specifically in our 101 class.
-
VISION
We expect our staff to lead the way in fulfilling our vision to reach the world for Jesus, one person at a time.
MISSION
We expect our staff to create biblical disciples in relational environments.
VALUES
We will SHARE Christ with a lost world.
We will CONNECT people into real relationships.
We will equip people to MINISTER in the church and in the world.
We will DISCIPLE people who make disciples.
-
We will live out the 7 habits of a disciplemaker:
Abide
This is the foundation for every disciple and disciple-maker. We must have an abiding, daily relationship with Christ to have anything to give or share with others.
Reach
Our relationship with Jesus should be the natural overflow of sharing who we are, and our desire should be that every person eventually come to a saving relationship with Jesus as we walk beside them in their journey as a disciple.
Connect
We must encourage and help others get connected into meaningful, Christ-centered relationships with other believers and with the body as a whole.
Pursue the Strays
If any person you are connected with strays from Christ, you will do your part to be sure they are noticed, valued, and pursued.
Shepherd
We will shepherd and disciple people to the full maturity of Jesus in real relationships.
Identify, Recruit, Equip & Release Disciplemakers
Intentionally equip people to become disciples of Jesus Christ who are using their gifts and experiences for God’s glory. We will always move toward the goal of releasing spiritually mature disciples of Jesus, who will then go on to make disciples of Jesus.
Function as a Team
A divided house cannot stand. We will be a unified and aligned team working together because we achieve more collectively than individually. Together, we are stronger!
-
We look for three key leadership characteristics in our staff team.
Humble
Values other people and looks for ways to serve people.
Desires to grow personally and professionally by being open to feedback.
